The Way We Work...
We prefer to have a
long-term relationship with our clients, but this often starts with us being
asked to undertake a simple short-term assignment. We will always quote a fee
for a project and indicate whether we expect you to pay travelling and
subsistence. But, we will never charge for telephone calls, meetings, copies of
reports, extra manuals for training participants, photocopies etc as some
consultancies do. Such things are all part of our service!
In some cases a proportion of the fees will be
payable in advance, because of the time that we need to invest in a project at
the start. But we will tell you this up-front.
For training programmes we do not charge per participant,
but for the programme. We will stipulate the minimum & maximum number of
participants, so you can get the best value for money from the programme. We
are always happy to re-run a programme for you at a significantly reduced fee.
We do have clients who wish to agree an
hourly rate with us so that they can call upon our services as and when they
wish and we are also happy to do this.
We
rarely work with monthly retainers as we do not feel that either party benefits
from this type of working relationship, but if thats what a client really
wants, we are still happy to talk to you!
We do not issue proposals to prospective clients without
an initial face-to-face meeting, unless timing and / or geography make it
impossible. In such cases, we would expect adequate background information and
materials about your business from you before we prepare the proposal.
